Description
The Quality Control Manager plays a key role in supervising and ensuring the quality of work on construction sites. By guaranteeing compliance with quality standards and specifications, this professional contributes to the successful completion of building or civil engineering projects in the residential, commercial, industrial and/or institutional sectors.
Responsibilities
•Check plans and other technical documents.
•Establish and maintain an effective quality control system for construction projects, in accordance with standards and regulatory requirements.
•Supervise inspections and tests on site, and/or carry out regular inspections on sites to assess the quality of work execution and identify possible defects or non-compliances.
•Ensure that plans and quality rules are respected.
•Identify quality issues and deviations from plans.
•Find and implement solutions to problems with other team members.
•Prepare necessary instructions and follow subcontractor methods.
•Manage non-compliance issues and correct them.
•Close projects and make the right recommendations.
•Collaborate with the design, execution and project management teams to define quality criteria and ensure their understanding and application by all stakeholders.
•Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with established quality control procedures and propose corrective actions in the event of deviations.
•Monitor corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality issues and prevent their recurrence.
•Develop detailed quality control reports, documenting inspection results, deviations found and actions taken to remedy them.
•Provide technical support and advice to site teams on methods and techniques to ensure the quality of the work.
•Participate in coordination meetings with customers, subcontractors and other stakeholders to discuss quality issues and action plans.
Requirements
•Degree in civil engineering, construction or a related field, an asset.
•Certification in quality management or quality assurance in the construction industry, an asset.
•Valid engineering certification, an asset.
•Previous experience in a quality control role in the construction industry.
•In-depth knowledge of quality standards and regulations applicable in the construction industry.
•Strong technical skills in inspecting construction work, detecting defects and making recommendations to correct them.
•Demonstrated ability to work independently and make informed decisions in a dynamic and demanding environment.
•Excellent communication and time management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
