About the Job
Reporting to the Business Advisor, the Programs Administrator, Cornwall SDG Business Enterprise Centre, assists with the operations of the Cornwall SDG Business Enterprise Centre, which supports small business owners that are looking to establish or grow their small business.
The position will be responsible for providing reception duties, compiling statistics, updating the website and assisting in the coordination of various events, webinars, and programs such as Summer Company and Starter Company PLUS.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide timely and positive reception services for clients and partners of the Cornwall SDG Business Enterprise Centre (BEC).
- Assist in the implementation of Ministry programs (Starter Company Plus and Summer Company) within the region.
- Assist in the coordination of various events, seminars and webinars.
- Market the programs and services of BEC including preparation of marketing material.
- Maintain and update BEC website and social media accounts.
- Research and compile statistics and other metrics.
- Provide administrative support in the management of the BEC budget, including sponsorships and funding partners and grant programs.
- Manage the daily operations of BEC and provide supervision of BEC staff.
- Maintain systems to track entrepreneurship activity in the region.
- Support the Economic Development team by undertaking special projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a progressive business or government environment.
- Post-secondary education in business, marketing or related field.
- Ability to travel to various work locations across the city and within the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry in a timely and efficient manner
- Good understanding the local business community in Cornwall, SDG and Akwesasne.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, coordinating multiple projects.
- Highly motivated, results-focused and detail-oriented.
- Knowledge of marketing and business finance concepts.
- Strong communication, planning and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software applications.
- Verbal communication skills in both English and French will be considered an asset.
Please note: This position involves occasional work on weekends and evenings as well as some physical requirements (such as lifting boxes) and work in outdoor elements.
