Description

The Process Mechanical and Industrial Piping Estimator plays a crucial role in the project acquisition process for a company specializing in the industrial and institutional sectors in process mechanics and industrial piping. Working closely with the project management team, engineers and suppliers, the estimator is responsible for assessing costs and preparing accurate estimates for mechanical construction projects, particularly in the areas of water treatment systems. drinking water, wastewater and environmental processes.

Responsibilities

Analyze project specifications and contract documents to understand client requirements.
Review plans and specifications to assess material, labor and equipment requirements.
Estimate costs for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors and other expenses associated with the project.
Prepare detailed quotes and commercial proposals in accordance with client requirements and company policies.
Collaborate with engineers and designers to develop cost-effective and innovative technical solutions.
Communicate effectively with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes and pricing information.
Participate in preconstruction meetings with clients and stakeholders to discuss technical and financial aspects of the project.
Revise and update estimates based on changes to the project and new information available.
Assist the project management team in developing budgets and construction schedules.
Perform any other related task.

Requirements

Degree in mechanical engineering, or in building mechanics, in building estimation and evaluation technique, in mechanical engineering or an equivalent experience / training combination
Experience in estimating mechanical construction projects, an asset.
Knowledge of the field of process mechanics, an asset.
Knowledge of the construction field, an asset.
Knowledge of various drinking/waste water treatment equipment, an asset.
Knowledge of mechanical construction and industrial piping materials, techniques and standards, an asset.
Proficiency in estimation and project management software.
Advanced analytical and mathematical skills, with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality of work.
Strong sense of organization and time management, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
