Description
The Construction Works Supervisor plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating activities on construction sites, such as building, civil engineering and excavation. By supervising the execution of work, ensuring compliance with deadlines and quality standards, and ensuring the safety of workers, the Construction Works Supervisor contributes to the success of construction projects in the residential, commercial, industrial and/or institutional.
Responsibilities
•Supervise and coordinate activities on the construction site, ensuring compliance with established plans, specifications and schedules.
•Act as a pivot for the exchange of information between the various stakeholders; i.e., internal engineering, the client and the contractors.
•Lead and supervise a team of workers, including subcontractors, to ensure the quality and efficiency of work execution.
•Monitor and control costs, ensuring resources are used efficiently and economically.
•Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to resolve issues and challenges encountered on site.
•Ensure that safety standards are respected at all times, by implementing preventive measures and organizing safety training sessions.
•Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
•Maintain accurate and complete reports on work progress, incidents occurring on site and expenses incurred.
•Communicate effectively with the project team, clients and other stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination of activities.
Requirements
•Degree in civil engineering, construction or a related field, an asset.
•Previous experience in a role supervising or managing construction and/or civil engineering works.
•In-depth knowledge of construction techniques, materials and equipment used on construction sites.
•Demonstrated ability to lead a team, resolve problems and make effective decisions in a dynamic environment.
•Strong communication and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•Certification in health and safety on construction sites (ASP Construction or equivalent) would be an asset.
