Certified Utility Arborists (CUA) – British Columbia
Wright Canada Holdings Ltd, operating as Wright Tree Service of Canada, is seeking qualified CUAs for various positions in various locations within British Columbia. These are permanent, full-time positions with highly competitive hourly wages, benefit package, as well as an employee ownership plan.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assign, instruct, and direct tree trimmers, equipment operators and groundworkers
- Trim and/or removes trees by climbing with the aid of a ladder, safety belt, climbing line, powered trimmer lift truck, or work from the ground using saws/pruners
- Removal or trimming of trees and brush encroaching onto utility or transportation rights of ways
- Assume responsibility for the inspection and proper working conditions of tools, trucks, and other work equipment
- Ensure on-the-job safety practices are followed by all crew members
- Perform other job-related tasks as required or assigned
Requirements include:
- Valid Certified Utility Arborist designation or ability to challenge BC skilled trades certification
- Basic knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits and correct arboriculture techniques for trimming, pruning, repairing, maintaining and removing
- Adheres to safety requirements and ensures crew members are working safely
- Ability to lift, move and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis
- Ability to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather and environmental conditions
- Valid drivers’ license
