Tasks
- Command and operate ships or vessels to transport passengers and cargo
- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of deck crews
- Ensure safety and comfort of passengers
- Maintain vessel’s navigational instruments and equipment
- Control, steer and navigate a vessel in various waterways
- Record vessel’s progress, weather and sea conditions in ship’s log
