Description
The Asphalt Paving Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities related to the laying of asphalt on construction sites, particularly in paving, civil engineering and excavation projects. He ensures that the work is carried out according to quality and safety standards and within the set deadlines.
Responsibilities
•Supervise and coordinate teams of workers assigned to laying asphalt on construction sites.
•Supervise the work of the paving team, ensuring that production and quality objectives are achieved.
•Plan asphalt laying work based on instructions from the site manager or project manager.
•Calculate the installation rates and quantities of asphalt required.
•Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards when carrying out the work.
•Organize the distribution of tasks and resources necessary for the execution of work efficiently.
•Carry out regular inspections to ensure work conforms to plans and specifications.
•Supervise the maintenance and use of equipment and tools necessary for laying asphalt.
•Communicate effectively with team members, project managers and other stakeholders to ensure optimal coordination of activities on site.
•Participate in resolving problems and unforeseen situations that may arise during work.
•Maintain accurate records of activities, hours worked and materials used on site.
•Contribute to the training and skills development of team members.
Requirements
•Relevant experience in the field of asphalting or any equivalent experience or skills.
•Hold a valid certification for your occupation.
•Certification in health and safety on construction sites.
•Knowledge of asphalt laying techniques and procedures.
•Have skills in calculating quantities and installation rates.
•Be able to understand and interpret plans and specifications.
•Great listening and problem-solving skills.
•Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
•Ability to work in a high-pressure work environment while meeting tight (restricted) deadlines.
•Team spirit.
•Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in emergency situations.
•Hold a valid driving license.
